Black and White Animals- Art project, science lesson, and bulletin board

Submitted by Natalie N.

“Black and White Animals”

For our Animal unit in science, we discuss the usual animal things: habitat, cold blooded- vs. warm blooded, prey and predators, adaptations, camouflage, etc.  We then look at animals that are primarily black and white.  We discuss whether or not this is of benefit to them.  And if so, how?  The student then researches a black and white animal and will do a written report to share with the class.  Next comes the art….the students draw their chosen animal in the proper habitat.  It becomes a great bulletin board display.
