Christmas Reindeer- Christmas art project for preschool or elementary

Project submitted by Annie

I don’t like using patterns.  I like my students’ projects to have a unique look.  Because of this, I model how to make these reindeer parts, rather than simply saying, “Draw a face.”

1. Face- Drawing half a face is not so bad.  Have the students fold the paper in half.  Instruct them to have the widest part of the face on top and gradually get more narrow.  Make sure you have them draw against the fold in the paper!

2.  Antlers-  With younger students, I have them fold paper in half, trace one hand.  Once they cut the folded paper, they will have 2 hands to use as the antlers.  With older students, you may choose to have them draw the antlers for a more authentic look. 3. Have students make eyes, nose, ears.

4. Add some Christmas cheer by adding candy canes, stocking hats, etc to the antlers.
